Temporary Filling Material

CAVITON is a hydraulic temporary restorative used as a temporary filling material.

INDICATIONS

  • As a temporary filling material

CONTRAINDICATIONS

  • In rare cases the product may cause sensitivity in some people. If any such reactions are experienced, discontinue the use of the product and refer to a physician.

Features:

  • Setting initiated by water and saliva
  • Excellent adaptability
  • Easy to remove

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

a) Dry the prepared cavity with a small cotton pellet

b) Transfer the material to the cavity using a suitable instrument and form the contour. In the case of occlusal Class I cavities let the patient bite down on the surface, and then form the contour

c) Ask the patient to close his/her mouth. The filling will harden in about 30 minutes by absorbing moisture

Recommend the patient to avoid pressure or abrasion for at least 1 hour

Notes

1. Do not mix or contaminate with any other material

2. When removing the filling, clean the cavity with an alcohol soaked cotton pellet

3. Close the jar immediately.

Description

Light-Cured Reinforced Glass Ionomer Restorative – Resin reinforcement and light curing enhances physical and aesthetic properties making Gold Label 2LC one of GC’s top-of-the-line glass ionomer restorative.

GC Fuji II LC Improved is the world-wide leading light-cured glass ionomer cement. Although designed primarily as a restorative material for use in Class III, V and deciduous teeth, GC Fuji II LC Improved is a multipurpose material, with secondary indications such as liner, base and core build-up.

A Strontium-based Glass Ionomer:

All GC Gold Label Glass Ionomer contains strontium glass. The strontium glass provides good radiopacity and snapset characteristics, unanimously preferred by clinicians around the world. Interestingly, strontium will mimic calcium in the formation of strontium hydroxyapatite and strontium fluoroapatite to affect internal remineralization within the tooth structure.

Surface Strengthening Effect:
Research has shown that a strontium-based glass ionomer placed in calcium-containing environment (saliva) will result in calcium ion diffusing into the glass ionomer surface achieving a surface strengthening effect. All GC Gold Label Glass Ionomer strengthens over time in saliva.

A Consistent Predictable Seal:
All GC Gold Label Glass Ionomer will display a glossy surface after mixing. This indicates sufficient free polyacrylic acid is available to begin the ion exchange process. The subsequent movement of ions between dentin, enamel and GC Glass Ionomer creates an ion exchange zone which chemically fuses them together. The resulting seal is consistent, predictable and long lasting.

INDICATIONS

  • Class III and V restorations, particularly for cervical erosions and root surface caries
  • Restoration of primary teeth
  • Core build up
  • Cases where radiopacity is required
  • Geriatric applications
  • As a base or liner.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

  • Pulp capping
  • In rare cases the product may cause sensitivity in some people. If any such reactions are experienced, discontinue the use of the product and refer to a physician

ADVANTAGES:

  • Allows minimal cavity preparation
  • Less stress on margins and marginal seal
  • Protects against secondary caries
  • Excellent esthetics and finish
  • Improved abrasion resistance
  • Allows for immediate finishing after light curing while ensuring total material set
  • Ease of colour match to tooth shade
  • More durable, longer lasting restorations
  • Assurance of successful restorations

Gc Gold Label 2 Lc 1-1 Pkg Shade A2:

  • 1 x 15g Powder
  • 1 x 8g Liquid

Direction to Use

1. POWDER AND LIQUID DISPENSING

a) Select shade based on Vita shade guide.  : Vita is a registered trademark of Vita Zahnfabrik, Bad Säckingen, Germany

b) The standard powder to liquid ratio is 3.2g / 1.0g. 1 level scoop of powder to 2 drops of liquid

c) For accurate dispensing of powder, tap the bottle gently. Do not shake or invert

d) Hold the liquid bottle vertically and squeeze gently

e) Close bottles immediately after use

2. MIXING

a) Fluff powder of bottle before dispensing

b) Place one scoop of powder and two drops of liquid on pad. Divide powder in half

c) Spread liquid out into a thin layer (about the size of a half dollar or 3 cm) with plastic spatula

d) Pull half of the powder onto liquid and mix with lapping strokes (like impression material) for 10 to 15 seconds

e) Pull in remaining powder and mix thoroughly to a glossy consistency. Do not exceed 20-25 second total mixing time

3. RESTORATIVE TECHNIQUE

a) Prepare tooth using standard techniques. Extensive mechanical retention is not necessary. For pulp capping use calcium hydroxide

b) Apply GC CAVITY CONDITIONER (10 seconds) or GC DENTIN CONDITIONER (20 seconds) to the bonding surfaces using a cotton pellet or sponge

c) Rinse thoroughly with water. Dry by blotting with a cotton pellet or gently blowing with an air syringe. DO NOT DESICCATE. Best results are obtained when prepared surfaces appear moist (glistening)

d) Mix the required amount of cement. Working time is 3 minutes 45 seconds from the start of mixing at 23°C (73.4°F). Higher temperatures will shorten working time

e) Transfer cement to the preparation using a syringe or suitable placement instrument. Avoid air bubbles

f) Form the contour and place a transparent matrix if required

g) Light cure for 20 seconds using a visible light curing device (470 nm wavelength). Place light source as closely as possible to the cement surface. Note : For cavities deeper than 1.8 mm, use a layering technique

4. FINISHING

Remove matrix and finish under water spray using standard techniques. Note : Apply a final coat of GC Fuji VARNISH (blow dry) or GC Fuji COAT LC (light cure for 10 sec.) or G-COAT PLUS (light cure for 20 sec.).

Vinyl polysiloxane impression material

FLEXCEED, with its lowest contact angle, displaces moisture and lows into subgingival areas rather than lowing away to mucosal surfaces, thus producing accurate impression detail.

It has  High Initial Hydrophilicity & Viscosity . It  gets pushed into the sub-gingival area  easily to register  the details. The flow of FLEXCEED Putty-Wash is better than most of the brands.

FLEXCEED LIGHT BODY is more hydrophilic:

The initial contact angle of a water droplet on an impression material helps measures the ability of a material to wet surfaces

FLEXCEED exhibits the highest tear strength to give an accurate impression detail everytime.

The subgingival and interproximal regions of the impression are often very thin and can tear during the removal of the impression. FLEXCEED has been tested to have the highest strength to resist tearing in comparison to other vps impression materials.
